ISO 22301 specifies requirements to plan, deploy, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and continually improve a documented management system to help reduce risks associated with disastrous event and help to prepare, respond, and recover from disruptive incidents.

The ISO 22301 standard is part of a cycle of continuous improvement. This is the PDCA (Plan Do Check Act):
Different topics to be covered:

  • • Risk analysis: study IT threats and impact analysis: determine when an impact is intolerable for the company.
  • • Data backup : is the strategy adapted to company needs, what changes need to be put in place?
  • • Backup systems definition, with for example the choice of where to host the secondary infrastructure (in-house or on a secondary site) or at a third party (in a datacenter), advice on how to configure equipment during switchover in the event of BCP, etc.
  • • Activity resumption: restart of servers and equipment, applications, restoration of access to data.
  • • Procedures and teams preparation: good behavior of your teams, essential actions which must allow you to quickly return to minimal mode, ...
  • • Planning for disaster recovery (DR) and/or business continuity (BCP) tests.
